Another month older!

A little late getting this post out, but with everything that went on over the past few days it’ll make sense why.

Thursday, Thanksgiving, Logan turned 8-months old!  I truly believe that once you have a kid, time speeds up!  Here are his updated stats from what we measured:

Weight: 22-pounds, 3.2-ounces (fully-clothed)
Height: 28.0-inches
Head: 18.19 (18 3/16)-inches

And of course a picture of the little boy who wished he was partaking in the feast:

This year for Thanksgiving, we once again joined Joe and his family, then followed that meal up with a second dessert at a friend’s house.

By Friday night Logan had developed his first cold.  Poor little guy, didn’t sleep well Friday night at all and Saturday morning he wanted nothing but to cuddle with his momma.  I felt so bad for him, sniffling, snoring and coughing.  Thankfully we have a humidifier, which has helped.  By Saturday afternoon, after finally getting in a couple good naps, he was feeling well enough to play for a bit.  But he was still so exhausted, but we all feel that way when we are sick.  Logan was still not feeling well yesterday, and was snoozing the morning away, so we stayed from from church, while Noah headed to the service.  Both Saturday and last night he still didn’t sleep well, but managed to find some energy for some low-key playing.  He was still congested this morning, but in good spirits.  Hopefully this cold works through quickly and builds his immune system.

Today also, Logan started with his new nanny.  We have now placed him with the same nanny Joe & Erika use, so Logan will get to grow up playing with his cousins.  My drive to work now takes me east, then south, instead of northeast than south, but the commute time is about the same.  Despite the time in the car, we’re excited for this opportunity.

This past week we also moved Logan into a convertible car seat.  This will be his seat for the next 50-pounds!  A couple weeks ago I gave up moving his infant car seat in and out of the car as hefting the 30+ combined weight was not being so kind to my back…however, it was helping me build some nice guns!  Since, I was no longer moving the car seat, we decided the kid might as well sit more comfortably, so we cashed in beaucoup credit card points and bought an uber safety rated ($$$) car seat for no money out of pocket!  What a sweet deal that is!  Anyway, Logan seems to like it.  He sits higher, has a better view out the windows and likes to feel the soft fabric.  Now, we just need to figure out a good toy latch system before our upcoming road trip.

Halloween 2010

Happy Halloween (a day late)!  This year for Halloween we all dressed up as lawn gnomes (apparently the Jones side of the family has a penchant for gnomes).  Logan, of course, is the cutest gnome ever!  We still have not had our first snow yet this year, so we were able to do a nice photo shoot outside.  Here are a couple pictures we took yesterday in costume – click on either of the pictures for more:

Growin’ Big!

Look who’s 7-months old today!

Logan doesn’t go to the doctor for a well-baby check-up until March, but here are his updated stats from what we measured:

Weight: 21-pounds, 9.6-ounces (fully-clothed)
Height: 27.75-inches
Head: 18-inches

And, of course to compare to previous months, head on over to Logan’s stats page.

I’ve uploaded lots of pictures here and several videos to Logan Live! so be sure to check them out!  Most of the videos are of Logan trying a new food.  This kid is not a picky eater at all!  He does seem to prefer bananas and sweet potato as his favorites, but everything goes down with a smile – even peas!  Other videos on the site include laughing during play time and swinging at the park.  I highly recommend checking them out!

If you’re on Facebook, Logan also has a page there too – let me know if you want added as a member!

Half Birthday Celebrations!

Six months ago today Noah and I calmly walked into a hospital.
Six months ago today I saw my baby on an ultrasound for the last time.
Six months ago today I went into an OR and met my baby for the first time.
Six months!

Today we are celebrating Logan’s half birthday!  To honor the occasion I am going to make a cake (for Momma and Daddy) and Logan will get to try out a new solid…I haven’t decided just what yet.  We are also going up into the mountains to take pictures of and with the aspen gold!  I’ll be sure to get the good photos ones posted soon. 🙂

Yesterday, Logan had his 6-month well baby check-up, which was filled with big crocodile tears.  Apparently, Logan chose that appointment to express a little stranger anxiety.  Poor baby bawled when the nurse measured his head, bawled when doctor listened to his heart and of course bawled when he received his vaccines (even the oral one).  Thankfully between his sucking on his thumb and me singing and rocking him he calmed down.

Here are his updated stats from yesterday’s appointment (and either he shrunk or the measurement of his height was off – considering his reaction to the nurse, I’m guessing it’s a little inaccurate):

Weight: 19-pounds, 1.5-ounces (79th percentile)
Height: 26-inches (36th percentile)
Head: 17.75-inches (85th percentile)

You can compare his current stats with previous months by checking his page.  Also, be on the look out for pictures to be posted!

Oh and don’t forget to VOTE for Logan to be the next Gerber baby!  Voting ends on the 30th, so don’t delay!

Celebrating 60 Years!

On Saturday, we had the pleasure of attending a special mass and reception to celebrate Noah’s grandparents 60th wedding anniversary!  What a remarkable achievement they have accomplished!  Extended family traveled from all over the country to attend the festivities!  I met so many of Noah’s distant relatives, all of whom, were much more interested in meeting Logan than myself.  Haha!  That little boy was a hit with the crowd…and apparently, by his gaunt looks, I need to feed Logan more. 😉  After the reception, everyone returned to Noah’s grandparents for more socializing.  More family photos were taken (when I get copies I will post them), and I was officially inducted into the Buffalo Club.

Sunday, the festivities continued with a bbq at one of Noah’s uncle’s house.  We could only stay for a short period of time, but I was able to snap this photo of Logan spending some QT with Great-Grandma Mary Ann:

After scarfing down some lunch (all three of us), we headed to the airport to pick up my Aunt, who was came to visit us, and meet Logan, for a couple of days before spending some time in Denver with her late husband’s squadron.

Logan really enjoyed showing off for Great Aunt Ruthanna.  And, thanks to her help, we were able to get our front yard into a much more respectable appearance!  We only had a couple of days to visit, one of which, we accused her of starting the Fourmile Fire as she had “disappeared” for a bit that morning on a walk.  😉  Here’s a picture of Logan cuddling with his Great Aunt:

All in all, we had a very busy Labor Day weekend, but it was also a LOT of fun seeing tons of family!

The Next Gerber Baby

As I mentioned in the 5-month post, I entered Logan into a contest to be the next Gerber baby!  Voting officially started yesterday, please be sure to vote for Logan!  Click on the picture to vote!

Momma’s Birthday

birthday to me!!!I would like to thank MLB for scheduling the Dodgers to be in town on my birthday, however, no thanks will be given to the Boys in Blue as they lost today. To celebrate my birthday, we took Logan to his first Dodgers baseball game!  He was very interested in all that was going on around us in the stands (in our shaded seats — Momma thought again when buying tickets).  Many people made comments about how cute he was in his Dodgers uniform and baseball hat: 2 women on the parking lot shuttle, the ticket lady at the gate, a few people with seats around ours, etc.  However, by the third inning, the excitement (or lack there of for us Dodgers fans) was too much for the little boy who fell asleep.  That is, until the Rockies scored.  And scored again.  You get the idea.  Logan eventually gave up on trying to sleep.  By the 7th inning he was starting to get fussy as he did not get a good nap in that morning, so we left during the middle of the 8th.  All we missed game wise was the Rockies scoring two more runs and the Dodgers hanging their heads in shame.  It was a good idea that we left early anyway, that way we could beat the mass exit and not have to sit in a hot car.

This weekend, there was also an airshow going on in a neighboring town – trick planes, and F-18s.  I’m already planning on us going there next year.  I’ll use Logan as an excuse, but it’s really Momma who wants to see the fighter jets go zooming by.  🙂 Now, even though people are supposed to gift the birthday girl, I’m going to give a present to my readers…Feast your eyes on the cutest Dodgers fan around!

More changes each month

I probably say this every month, but I still can’t believe Logan is already 5-months old!  Didn’t he just turn 4-months?  August sure has gone by fast.

This month Logan was able to visit with Gramma Leona, Grampa Dow, Auntie Gretna and Grandma Diane!  What a lucky boy to have family come out from California to visit him!  He is also growing like a weed, and I’m sure has sprouted more and longer hair on his head.  There have been days I have picked him up after work and mentioned how I think he grew more hair during the day.

Since he doesn’t go to the doctor again until next month, we made sure he was weighed and measured today.  Here are his updated stats:

Weight: 18-pounds, 0-ounces (72nd percentile)
Height: 26.25-inches (58th percentile)
Head: 17.25-inches (62nd percentile)

Keep in mind that although the measurements are as accurate as we can get, the percentiles were derived from Internet research.  And, if you would like to keep track of how much Logan has grown since birth, be sure to check out his stats page!

Also, during the past month, Logan has really be working hard and rolling over.  Either from his back or his stomach he would roll completely onto his side and teeter for a while before returning to his original position.  Many videos were made of nothing happening.  Well, today, on his 5-month birthday, he finally decided to roll all the way over (belly to back)!  And, of course, he did it so fast that it wasn’t captured on camera.  I do have video of an encore performance that I will post soon to his YouTube channel.

In the meantime, feast your eyes on these pictures:

Oh, I have also entered Logan into a contest to become the next Gerber baby.  Voting starts next week, so be on the lookout for emails, posts and other various forms of notification to help Logan win!

Eating from a spoon

At Logan’s 4-month check-up, the doctor told us we could start giving him rice cereal once a day.  Yesterday was the day we decided to first give it a try (we waited until Noah was home).  At first Logan wasn’t sure what to make of the soupy mixture I spooned into his mouth.  It tasted like milk…only different.  After a few tastes he decided he liked the stuff and started sucking it off the spoon!  Of course we were ready with not 1, not 2 but 3 cameras to capture the event!
