I have decided to finally apply to graduate school! The prospect is both exciting and daunting – mainly due to the necessity of funding (if you’re willing to invest in my future, please don’t hesitate to send me money)! I think the timing is good. Noah’s his own boss so he can ensure he’s home when I have class and Logan goes to bed early, so I will have my nights devoted to class and studying.
So the big question you’re probably wondering is what I am going to study? Marriage and family therapy, of course! I will probably apply for fall 2011 or winter 2012. Yesterday I looked up the application process and grabbed the topics for the two essays I have to write, so I start writing those (are they even really considered essays when they’re only 1000-1500 words? ‘Cause that’s really more like a page). I have a couple of friends (one in the biz) who have already offered to help critique and edit the papers before I submit them for consideration.
I will still be able to work full-time, too, while taking classes. I’m sure I’ll be exhausted and have no life, but what else is new? Ha! I would really like to be able to finish the degree in 3 years, but depending on available finances , it may take longer (hopefully not). Another perk about the University to which I will be applying is that I can go at my own pace. Yay!
Prayer during this process will be much appreciated – prayer for focus, guidance, acceptance, funding and ability to maintain a hectic but well-balanced life. 🙂
